Roadkill Rescue: Wicker Chairs!

I'm always inspired by my friend Beckie's Roadkill Rescue posts over where she's Infarrantly Creative. Unfortunately, I have not had anything to contribute to the idea bank when she hosts it on her blog. Until NOW...

...coming home from the library the other day...I saw something amid the garbage cans in my neighborhood. My children were cranky and ready for lunch and nap...so when I pulled into the strange driveway my son said, "Mom, this is NOT our house!!" I told him I understood that but I saw something interesting. As I hopped out of the van he said, "In the GARBAGE!" Oh, poor child...you have much humiliation yet to experience from your dear mother! HA!
These two weathered wicker chairs each had a bag of garbage sitting in the seat. In this picture they have already been brushed free of paint chips here. The one arm is damaged...but I've been researching some wicker repair kits.
I trimmed off the loose wicker, used a wire brush to scrub them good...and then broke out the white paint.
VIOLA! I found two pillow/cushions at Goodwill for $3.99! Yeah! They are an adorable addition to my screen porch!
Next up...this press board blond stand (GAG)...
...details tomorrow!

Hey Bobbi, Hope everything is going well. I enjoy reading your blogs. They can be very uplifting, especially now when our lives are so upside down. We are having out third baby tomorrow so, keep us in your thoughts that all goes well. Short of snail mail this is the fastest way I can communicate with you anymore. It's been a while since I had your email address. I miss hearing how everything is going. Like I said, hope all is going well. We miss hearing from you. G. Nance
