Caffeinated Randomness: Birthday Blues...

I've got the birthday blues. I'm turning 30 tomorrow. I know, I know...many sweet pigeons out there are older...and scoff at my moanings...but I figure they must've given it some thought when they hit these milestones too. It's not that I don't have what I want...it just seems impossible. Not to mention that there are many sayings such as, "It all goes down hill after 30" etc. that make me feel depressed. Part of me feels like there's not so much to look forward to anymore.

Okay, it's my party and I'll cry if I want to...

yes, I know this is a pity party...

yes, I know I have to get over it!!

As strange as it seems the rainy cold Fall weather adds to my blues...as do the long hours my hubs has been working...and the sniffly health of the sweet boobahs here about. *Sigh*

One bright spot today was discovering that Critty Joy shares a birthday with me...as does my Great Aunt Dot. And it seems like half our church has birthdays all around this weekend...so I won't be alone in Sunday School when the church sings Happy Birthday.
The funniest saying I've heard lately,

"When did we become grownups...and how do we make it stop??"

Don't worry...I'm usually a "cup overflowing" type person...so I'll be back on top by Monday!

Happy Birthday!!! yes -- I would love to know how to make adulthood stop. Please let me find the rewind button!! But - growing older gets us one step closer to eternity with Jesus!! Hope that brightens your day! :)

Poor baby!

As I recall, 30 years ago today we were all at the hospital by now, waiting for you to make your appearance... waiting 36 hours.

If you weren't so stubborn, you would already be 30.

Then when you finally WERE born, you screamed like a banshee... You were the loudest baby in the hospital. That's when I knew you would be a great singer.

Don't worry about turning thirty... God has new blessings for you every year and life becomes sweeter and sweeter. The best is yet to come.

Love,
Dad

Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day!

(and being 30 gets easier. Really.)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

My dad says you're a kid until 30, so welcome to your FIRST year of adulthood. There is much wisdom for you here.

:) Happy, Happy Birthday!

I love when you find others who have the same birthday as you! And I am delighted to share my birthday with YOU!

I did not have a problem with 30 but I think it was because I had such a fun birthday planned...this year...well 31 just seems so old doesn't it? 30 was a fabulous time for me and I am praying that your 30th year is the best! one! yet!

Hugs.

All I have to say is, pigeon?

Love that saying!

As one who has faced the following two round-numbered birthdays -- each one does seem to cause us to reflect and wonder how we got here so fast and what's ahead.
