As I type this, it is like having "smello-blogging"...because I can smell the heady perfume of my favorite flower, the peony. I call it the poor man's rose...cuz the smell is just as glorious and the structure is like a rose with a bad hair day.
I check on these beauties in their tight ball buds for weeks. I sing "Anticipation..." and wait and wait for them to burst open.
Then, the payoff...tons and tons (well, dozens and dozens anyway) of deep pink, ruffled blossoms. Such intense smells makes me think of...."But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; to the one an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma from life to life. And who is adequate for these things? For we are not like many, peddling the word of God, but as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ in the sight of God."

Love, love, love, love, love peonies!! I have a gorgeous bush in my backyard that is still kinda young and only produces four or five blooms a year, but I still adore them. Mine are a creamy white with a soft pink streaked center. So gorgeous, and they do smell delightful.

I received a gorgeous bouquet of pink tiger lilies from my daughter for Mother's Day... delivered to the doorstep.
Too bad they made me sneeze and sneeze! The fragrance was heavenly. :~D

We were pleasantly surprised with peonies growing in our yard right after we moved in. Love them, but mine always have tons of ants so I can't bring them in. Ack. :)
