Notice my funky nook...and short cabinet. I can't remember what the previous owner had there...but Darren is going to build me this cute cake shelf...and then I'm saving my pennies for a big, red stainless trashcan! 
For those who can't remember the before...with the funky border and yellow walls...here ya go!The painter's tape took off that nasty fake wood (cheap stuff) and it looked nasty. I was super pleased with the results of using a wood stain marker...check it out!

Did a fridge go there? It almost looks like a spot for one, but since I'm assuming you do have one in your kitchen, there must be another place. It could have been a place for one of those cute, old-fashioned phone tables with a seat, but then you'd stand up and hit your head. Unless you're me and you're too short.
I'll stop. I could go on for a long time with crazy thoughts about what went there.
