WIW: Coffee & Donuts...a deep thoughts!!

God is not a belief to which you give your assent. God becomes a reality whom you know intimately, meet everyday, one whose strength becomes your strength, whose love, your love. Live this life of the presence of God long enough and when someone asks you, “Do you believe there is a God?” you may find yourself answering, “No, I do not believe there is a God. I know there is a God.”
~Ernest Boyer, Jr.

She Who Kneels Before God
Can Stand Before Anyone

Tolerance without dialogue is a euphemism for indifference.

"Humility is a virtue, not a neurosis."

Love that first one. It's so true--God is not a doctrine to which I ascribe or a belief that I hold. He is the air by which I breathe, the food by which I am sustained, the LIFE without whom I am but a dead shell.

Thanks so much for sharing!

All good ones. The first one is especially noteworthy, but I really like the second one, too. :-)

I love that!

Love the Thomas Merton quote too, about humility. Glad you're reading C. J. Mahaney's book. Would love to know what you think about it when you're finished. I've heard it's very good. I have it on my to-read list, especially since I really benefited from Andrew Murray's book on it.

I love the second quote. Something that God has been calling me to do is kneel in humility so that I can stand against everything that comes against me.
