Library Biker Hodgepodge!

The Wells' Family in the GPLibrary reading boat!  Dive Into Reading 2012!!

1. What's something you miss about the 1980's? If you're too young to miss the 80's how about the 90's?
I was tickled by my neighbor girl's school outfit today...evidently those suspenders with satin bows are back in style...along with the short ruffled skirts.  HA!  I never had those...But, I did have some really cool zebra leggings which I paired with awesome turquoise scrunchy socks, long sweatshirt and matching hair scrunchy and poofy bangs.
2. Do you have a library card? If so, how often do you visit?
I love my library card.  I use it every week...sometimes multiple times, especially if you count e-books.  It's my free fun!!  Well, actually I had to pay for my card this year cuz they figured out their zoning issues ...but I love my Greenwood Public Library...so I don't care.  They could have charged double and I would have paid it without blinking and urged all my friends to do the same!  HA!  We're working on our summer reading program right now.  WOO...lots of reading going on at our house....more than usual even!!
3. What's the secret to success?
"Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.  But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night."  Psalm 1:1-2
"There are no secrets to success.  it is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure." ~ Colin Powell
"The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary."  ~Anon.
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal:  it is the courage to continue that counts."  ~ Winston Churchill
4. This is National Backyard Games week...what's your favorite backyard game?
In the words of the Queen of Hearts, "Do you play croquet?  I love that game.  Sadly, we probably only play once a year...and my sweet Loverbrains usually trounces us all!
5. If I dropped by today what would I find on your coffee table?
First, you should know that my coffee table is in fact an old steamer trunk!  You would find a few little Longaberger baskets...and a bouquet of fresh flowers...  Currently, pink Denny roses...in all their fragrant glory!  Oh, and probably books...there are always books about!
6. Do you own a bicycle? When was the last time you rode a bicycle? Is that something you enjoy?
I just had my Mom's Cherry Red Bianchi refurbed and it's a truly awesome bike.  The more I ride it the more I love it!  I rode 5 miles yesterday...I need to practice my gear skills.  I really don't understand it...I just click through them until I find one that feels right.  My bike is smarter than me!
7. What's your favorite cheese?
Apple Pie with a few slices of SHARP cheddar....  Yes, please!!!!!  Apple Pie without the cheese, is like the kiss without the squeeze.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Emma Joy graduated from Kindergarten yesterday.  There is just something about that stupid Pomp and Circumstance song...makes me tear up!  *sniff-sniff*...While most of the kids in her class said they wanted to be doctors, nurses and teachers when they grow up...mine said she wants to be a Princess!  One of the other Moms and I laughed til we cried...I said,"Some of these kids are smart and are already going after the $$."  She said, "Yeah, your kid's just gonna marry it!"  HAHAHA!  Whoever he is he'd better be a prince...I pray he loves the Kings of Kings!

Hey YOU!!! What a surprise to hear from you!! You know that post at the Cafe was a total download from God...honestly it was what I've been wrestling with...the grace I am called to extend...so, so hard!
I'm incredibly blessed that it blessed you and I honestly pray when I write that God uses it...and He faithfully does...
Hope all is well in your world...a kindergarten graduate...time goes so quickly, enjoy every, single second! ;)

Aww...what a sweet graduation picture. You think kindergarten graduation is tough...just wait until she graduates from high school! I was a mess for 2 months prior to my oldest daughter graduating and I get choked up thinking about my baby graduating in just 3 more years. Never easy!

I was just over viewing Emma's Graduation!!! On your other blog.

And as for apple pie and cheese....mmmmm, {{{rubbing my tummy in anticipation}}}....delicious.

Queen of Hearts [the Johnny Depp Alice in Wonderland movie] was a favorite of mine. "Pig Here!!"

An antique steamer trunk for a coffee table!!!! How wonderful is that? I'd love to see a picture of it sometime. Maybe in your random thought next week? *hint

One more thing, before I leave...I hafta tellya, I LOVE suspenders.

I never had the leggings and scrunchy socks -- I was probably too old for that when it was current -- but I do remember that fad!

We haven't had a coffee table since out first furnished rental house -- it seemed both in the way and a clutter magnet.

I used to ride bikes everywhere when I was a kid, but I have a balance problem now and couldn't quite handle a bike the last time I tried.

Congratulations to Emma!

Yep, right there with you on the bike gears - I operate mine the same way! And how cool that you have an old steamer trunk for your coffee table! Is it a family heirloom?

The 'princess' answer your daughter gave was perfect! It shows she doesn't follow the crowd and she has self confidence! Good for her!

I would have paid cash money for some really cool zebra leggings back in the day!

Your Bible verse is a song we sing at BSF!
