Word FILLED Wednesday: My Joyfilled Light!

For those of you who "know" me...this will come as no surprise.  But, I've had two songs running through my head for DAYS...and thought I'd share the fun.  The first is pretty familiar...This little light of mine.  I'm gonna let it shine.  This little light of mine. I'm gonna let it shine.  Let it shine....let it shine...let it shine!

The other...I can't find a recording of...and I think it was in our church hymnal growing up.  I'm notorious for remembering parts of songs and not being able to figure out the title...and then calling up my parents and singing bits and pieces so they can help me out.  Ask them...really!  Between that and cooking questions they wonder if I call for any other reasons.  Anyhew...it goes like this...It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, fully of glory, full of glory.  It is joy unspeakable and full of glory...oh the half has never yet been told!

And how does that connect to your WFW post, dear, flighty Bobbi you are asking?  Well, I'll try to tell you!

I was asked this week...Do people around see the light of Jesus in you?  How do you appropriate His power and peace?

So, there are areas where I need to clean up my dusty lantern.  I really thought about it this week...in our crazy economy, dark world, tumultuous politics...I want to stand firm in the knowledge that He is the (Isaiah 9) Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father....

Wonderful Counselor....and there's where I got the "joy unspeakable" song stuck in my head.  He was able to work miracles and do marvelous and astounding things.  Judges 13...the angel who visits Samson's parents says his name is "Wonderful"...beyond understanding, full of glory, joy unspeakable.  Giving supernatural counsel.  WOW!

So, often I forget the source of my LIGHT is GOD!  I need to go to the WORD...before I seek out the opinion of friends, family, or books.  I need to spend more time in prayer...to be connected with Him...and receiving His Wonderful Counsel...

So, is your little light shining?  Does it need some dusting off??

Do people see your JOY?  Does it point to HIS glory??

"Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible (unspeakable) and filled with glory," 1 Peter 1:8

These are the questions I am seeing all over blog land lately! So, He must be trying to get our attention.

Great post, thank you.

Happy WFW and God bless...

Yes that second one brings a tune to mind...but not much else to this weary bod and mind.
Let us shine Lord Jesus keep us looking to You as our source of light and life.

That second song is called Joy Unspeakable -- I looked it up here: http://nethymnal.org/htm/j/o/joyunspk.htm -- and it is funny, I don't remember the stanzas, just the refrain.

I do have a question about WFW. I clicked over to the site and read about, but I am a little confused. I can tell it is thoughts from the Word or how something in the Word spoke to us. But is one supposed to make a graphic to go along with the post?

GIRL, we are on the same page...sight and smells!
You know it's funny how one little thing, a song or a candle can lead to some REAL talk time with Jesus! Love it!

This ROCKS! I'd LOVE to have a wall with these lanterns hanging..they yours?

Have an awesome day!
peace Bobbi!

Great Word. I wrote something pretty much in line with this yesterday (Pain is Gain) and how that light shines most brightly.

Blessings on this WFW.

Bounced over from Mommy On Fire because I wanted to tell you I love your idea of a quiet time box...really, good stuff. I will put that one into practice!

Nice meeting you.

Love this post! That picture is gorgeous!

I am often calling my mom and doing the same thing!

Unfortunately there are many days my lantern needs dusted off. I need to spend more time, more quiet time, with Him, to soak it all in instead of getting interrupted all the time! That's not a good way to try to spend time with God.

I want to have my light shining bright! Thanks for this WFW!

I have found His grace is all complete,
He supplieth ev'ry need.
While I sit and learn at Jesus' feet,
I am free, yes, free indeed!

It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
Full of glory, full of glory.
It is joy unspeakable and full of glory,
And the half has never yet been told!

Since you got it running through my head anyway, I decided to give you the words! I don't know which verse it is. But it's one of them. Love, Mom D.

It is Joy Unspeakable and full of glory by B. E. Warren. It's in my Church Hymnal from a long time ago.

Your verse is great. Songs run through my mind also. Sometimes I will wake up with words of a song. My husband usually can tell me the title of the song.

Blessings, AE
