In no particular order...
Being cooped up in the house, due to the Polar Vortex, for almost a week made me realize that I am a hopeless extrovert...sigh. No way around it. I like to think I've seen the value of alone time and recharging...of considering my words and all those other introverted virtues. But, I was almost ready to start screaming...GET ME OUTTA HERE! Of course, now that a full week of "normal" approaches I'm beginning to rethink my eagerness.
Why when painting do you get done...all cleaned up and furniture back in place...only to discover that the one bit of trim that needs touched up is the highest and least accessible in the house. Ugh. Oh it's the job that doesn't end...yes, it goes on and on my friends...
I decided I'd review the Shema each morning in 2014. “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You
shall love the Lord your God with all
your heart and with all your soul and with all your might."
I find it eerie how you never notice things until you begin studying them. Then suddenly, they pop of everywhere. It was even mentioned in the sermon today...and I almost fell off my seat. Incidentally, very interesting how it's connected to creeds of the early church, etc.
I love listening to my kids play together. You know, when they are playing and not picking. It's so cute. I'm glad, that for the most part, my kids are good friends. I love that they can mix army men and pink ponies...legos and jewelry...and just enjoy each others company...and the imaginations God gave them. I love the unplugged times!

I started my message last night with the shema...
The kids are great together... They are a delight to their grandparents' hearts.
We were cooped up in our house for 5 days in early December. While I enjoyed the coziness of it, after the 4th day, I was .getting a little antsy to get out of here.
I love the Shema. I have a CD that begins with that in Hebrew and then in English - it gives me chills.
