After posting about my bluebirds the other day...but having no actual pictures with my birdhouse....I decided I was going to stay outside until I got a good shot. They must be Amish...they don't like having their picture taken. As soon as I'd sit down and turn my camera off to preserve the battery...they'd be all over. Pick the camera up and turn it on...poof...gone!
So, I did take a beautiful picture of a white violet poking it's head up...
And my freshly painted toes in flip-flops...It was 75 and Sunny!! Did you know that if you paint your toes right before you get in the shower they dry super hard and shiny? My Loverbrains suggests that this is due to the rapid evaporation of the alcohol content...Whatever the cause it's a pretty handy trick!
Then this morning...I bounded out the door...and caught a few pictures of my bluebird couple! YEAH!
One is lighter and brighter than the other...I need to do some research and discover if this is due to sex or just individuals. See!? I was telling the truth...I do have bluebirds in my city back yard!!

I need to learn to be more independent. I tend to lean on my husband pretty greatly. Perhaps I could learn a few things from you :)
I am envious of the bluebird and the flip flops. Especially the flip flops. I was in boots yesterday...still very chilly here. And it has rained every day this week. I hear we may get a break on Sunday. Spring is really struggling here.
Great tip on the toe nails. We aren't in flip flop weather yet, but soon will be. I love that you have blue birds. I'm waiting for the yellow finches to come back. I would really love to see them before the move.
So pretty! And I never knew that about the nailpolish. Surely it has to be a little dry before you get in or you'd get dimples in the polish, right?
I love your "they must be Amish" comment, Bobbi! TOO FUNNY!
Wait - I'm only a little over an hour away from you and it was NOT 75 and sunny here yesterday. But your toes? They look fab.
I've been thinking of you and praying for the retreat planning. Did I miss it? I have it in my mind it's this month.
Thinking of you, sweet friend!
Glad you finally were able to get a picture of them! Love the violet, too. Spring IS here! At least in some parts of the US. I've heard of some folks having snow. I am glad I don't like where they are. :-)
I'm so envious of your bluebirds. I surely miss having them in my backyard like I used to. You have the little creek and easement in the back, I don't. Means I'll have come and visit. :o) Make sure and take lots of pics. You'll see the Momma and Poppa teaching them to hunt and bathe. Love, Mom D
Nice to meet you through Five Minute Friday! Thanks for sharing a little about you and those pictures!
Oh I know . . . I have tried to get pictures of the chickadees and cardinals that visit my backyard. Delighted that you were able to snap a shot of the bluebirds.
Thanks for the tip about nail polish. Glad to meet you thru 5 Minute Fridays.
Bobbi, love the bluebirds! How cool is it that you have them in your yard! Thanks for sharing about you on Five Minute Fridays - I love getting to know this blogging community. I think if we met, our type-A's would immediately recognize each other. Kind of "birds of a feather" : ) Hope to see you next Friday!
We had that weather last week, but the winds and clouds and chill are back this week. There was hailing last night.
How fun to birdwatch!!
Stopping by from Home Sanctuary.
I totally did not know that about nail polish...I always figured it would wash off and wait until after my shower. I am so trying this! I love the bluebird story. We have a bluebird house right out of our garage, but it has been taken over by a different family this year!
Have a great weekend!
What a great post for five minutes! I love the pictures. I had a bluebird once in my city backyard and I was so excited.
I always thought hot showers made my toenails chip faster. Wait, maybe that's hot baths...hmm...
I'm going to have to try your trick. It's definitely flip flop weather here in the So Cal. :)
Nice to meet you today through Five Minute Friday. :)
Thanks for the nail polish trick, I never knew that!
