WIW: Lovie Pictures & Humility Quotes...

Okay, I just thought these first two were amusing!  True, true...

Lord, where we are wrong, make us willing to change; where we are right, make us easy to live with.
~Peter Marshall

What kills a skunk is the publicity it gives itself.
~Abraham Lincoln

Awww...Remember...The girl's matchy pillowcase skirts and Lubby's haircut ala MomE
This quote by Halifax reminds me of my Loverbrains.  He's like this at work...and very often like this on spiritual matters.  I'm slowly learning that when he does speak out on something...I need to listen.

True merit, like a river, the deeper it is, the less noise it makes.
~Edward Frederick Halifax

It is frustrating to see other men his age who are piously and pompously, loud-mouthing their way to the top...I find myself feeling like he should put himself forward more.  I feel that way because I'm so proud of him.  But, I'm reminded that it is God who gives the blessings...and does indeed bless the humble.

Dog Pile on MomE!  Poor Lubby always fell on his forehead...nice blue band aid!
The last quote  just hurts...pure and simple.  Really think about this for a few seconds...ouch.  I don't know many people who don't do just this...
Too many people overvalue what they are not and undervalue what they are.
~Malcolm S. Forbes

Nice... all of them!

This one spoke the loudest: "Lord, where we are wrong, make us willing to change; where we are right, make us easy to live with.
~Peter Marshall" LOL, so true.

All good ones again! The first and last ones seem to go together, one making the point humorously and the other like a surgeon's scalpel. I was just praying in the last day or two that the Lord would help me have the right attitudes first instead of the wrong ones (in this case an inflated view of myself) that I then have to beat back with Scripture.

Love the Halifax quote -- so true.

Lots of good humility quotes here, Bobbi. You trying to tell us something? :-) Sounds like your husband is a humble man. I wonder if it's harder for a man to be humble than a woman, at least out "in the world."

Humble yourselves before the Lord and He will lift you up (James 4:10). Thanks for sharing!
